Itinerary

Your Short Inca Trail with camping begins in Cusco. We pick you up from your hotel in our private transportation at 6:00 AM. Travel accompanied by a professional tour guide.

After a 1.5-hour drive, arrive at Ollantaytambo train station. At 7:45 AM, board the Expedition-class train. Enjoy a scenic 1-hour 10-minute ride. Take in breathtaking views of the Andes Mountains and Sacred Valley.

As we enter tropical forests, the landscape transforms. This leads us to Kilometer 104, the starting point of our Machu Picchu day hike.

Before setting off, we check in at the main control point. Our pre-arranged permits and tickets are essential. Restrooms are available for your convenience. The adventure begins with a visit to the archaeological site of Chachabamba.

A moderate climb follows. Traverse lush biodiversity, home to beautiful orchids and unique ferns. After a few hours, break at a small waterfall for snacks. Continue to the Wiñayhuayna archaeological site. Our guide shares its ancient significance. You’ll have free time to explore this Inca ruin.

As we continue, arrive at the final campsite used by 4-day Inca Trail hikers. We take a break for lunch (box lunch included). This section of the trek features a mix of gentle ascents and descents.

Finally, reach Inti Punku (Sun Gate). You’ll be rewarded with your first breathtaking view of Machu Picchu Citadel from the Inca Trail!

Your train ticket, other entrance tickets, and reservations are linked to this document. Rangers will check it when you enter Machu Picchu. Students with a valid ISIC card may qualify for a discount. You must possess a current, internationally accepted ISIC card in your name. You can apply for the ISIC Card at isic.org. According to government laws, you must be under 18 years of age at the time of your trek or visit to Machu Picchu. Students aged 18 and above require an ISIC card for discounts. For instance, if you are 17 when you book but turn 18 before your trek, you do not qualify. Students from 12 to 17 years old receive a $20 discount. Children from 2 to 12 years old also get a $20 discount. Children from 0 to 2 years old are free. All students must send a copy of their passport at the time of booking to receive the discount.
